The Rainbow

Composer: Kotaro Watahiki
Lyricist: William Wordsworth

Words from composer:

When my first child was born, I wanted to write down beautiful music. That’s why I composed this song. I chose the poem “The Rainbow” whose passage “The Child is father of the Man” inspired me.

I felt the solemn mind with the reverence for nature. With that in mind, I composed the overall as much care as I could do to make the melody and the rhythm feel natural along with words so that beautiful chords could be felt. Rather than pursuing novelty, I composed with the background of traditional counterpoint.

I hope that you would enjoy the sounds of each chord carefully so that it connects to the last phrase with the refreshed feeling as you run up to the sky.
