Mountain, Sky, You, and I (For SAB Chorus)

Composer: Ko Matsushita
Lyricist: Minori Minazuki

Words from composer:

The inspiration for this piece is the unaccompanied mixed four-part chorus that I composed for the Shinshu University Mixed Voice Choir in 2015.
The spread of Covid-19 in 2020 became so serious that artists lost their ability to perform. In order to participate in the Tokyo project, “Yell for Art!” sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, I wrote a new three-part female chorus version with piano accompaniment.

The piece was performed remotely by members—junior high school students and above—of Minamino Kids Singers. After we mixed the recordings and added images, we participated in the project mentioned above by submitting the final product.

This piece is a song for people who are at turning points in their life such a graduation from school, choir and so on. As we prepare three and four-part mixed chorus versions as well as a three-part female chorus version, I hope that it will be performed by junior high school classes and by choirs with a few male members. (The four-part mixed chorus version has no accompaniment. The three-part female chorus and three-part mixed chorus versions have piano accompaniment)

Printed score and digital score are prepared. Please choose one below.
