O magnum mysterium

O magnum mysterium is a responsorial chant from the Matins of Christmas that focuses on the mystery of the birth of Christ. It has been used in choral compositions by various authors, including Victoria whom I was inspired by, for the initial part of my piece.

The experience I had as a choir singer is fundamental in my composing style because I always try to use easily singable melodies  and harmonies made of not too harsh sounds.

This work was the culmination of my vocal composition and choir conducting studies and is an integral part of my degree thesis.
