Ave Regina caelorum

Composer: Gabriele Saro

Words from composer:

Ave Regina caelorum is one of four Marian antiphones, with following versicles and prayers, traditionally said or sung after each of the canonical hours of the Liturgy of the Hours. The Prayer is used especially after Compline, the final canonical hour of prayer before going to sleep.

This work opens with an atmosphere of Mystery, and develops in a gregorian mood with an explosion in the 8 voices central part, really devoting and at the same time gorgeous; the conclusion of the prayer  brings the soul into a meditative climax.

Ave Regina caelorum was performed as opening music at the “Virgo Lauretana” Sacred Choral Festival (Loreto –  ITALY) on 2014, with worldwide TV Broadcasting.
