Exsultate Justi

Composer: Salvo Gangi

Words from composer:

The message of this psalm is that sadness doesn’t belong to the believer and it’s necessary to remain in joy to praise God. My piece tries to express the relationship between joy and faith, through musical impulses, counterpoints and harmonic passages that gradually become more daring.

The central part (Confitemini Domino) has a more intimate character that expresses the personal relationship with the divine, the source from which true joy is born. This is musically expressed in the “Vivace” with gaudy sounds, with pressing rhythms, solid harmonies and a very lively contrapuntal game.
