Alma Redemptoris Mater is a Marian antiphon from the Adventide in which Mary, the mother of the Redeemer, is exalted for her innumerable virtues and prayed by the people of faithful.
The piece opens with a pseudo-aleatory section that forms the background to the first part of the Gregorian melody, performed by the male sections of the choir.
Then begin a polyphonic section: here we can find sweet and intimate moments that describe wonderful characteristics, alternated with other incisive ones, in which the faithful ask to Mary her intercession.
