Corde Natus is based on the Latin poem of the same name attributed to the Roman poet Aurelius Prudentius in the IV century. It was translated in the XVI century as “Of the Father’s Heart Begotten”. This beautiful Christmas poem speaks to the glorious birth of God-the-Son, through Him everything was created, and the fulfillment of God’s promise through His Son.
There are many choral versions of Corde Natus composed over the centuries, usually treated with soft, gentle and intimate textures. This new choral composition brings a new perspective to the text, full of joy and drive.
