In the year 2020, when the choir had to suspend its activities due to the outbreak of the COVID-19, “Uta no Naka(Inside a Song)” has been composed and premiered in order to keep the spirit of singing alive. The poem by Mr. Yasuhiro Yotsumoto, which describes the passionate longing for singing, has led to the creation of an unusual piece of choral music that uses a remote conferencing system. The premiere is now on YouTube, so please check it out.
The work is a three-part chorus without divisions and can be performed by any type of choir. For this publication, suggestions for a stage performance have been added. Each choir is free to create its own performance according to its own characteristics.
