Composer: Kai-Young Chan
Lyricist: Christina Rossetti
Words from composer:
This piece is based on a 19th century poem Remember by English poetess Christina Rossetti (1830–1894), who expresses in her work the ambivalent feelings about mourning and remembering a loved one – Should I remember and be sad? Should I forget and smile? The Victorian poem was composed in 1849, when Rossetti was still a teenager. I would like to dedicate this work to the young souls who have lost or took taken lives in this increasingly tumultuous world.
