The Missa Sangallensis is the second mass commissioned from me by Andreas Gut, who is the Domkapellmeister of the Cathedral of St. Gallen.
It is a composition of medium difficulty where the choir is supported by the organ and brass instruments in the performance.
A solo soprano is required in some parts of this composition that begins with a very intimate Kyrie, followed by a joyful Gloria.
During the Credo the trumpets and trombones don’t play. The Sanctus and Benedictus joined to form a single piece.
The composition concludes with an Agnus Dei that has a rather reassuring character.
