I composed this piece as a commemorative choral work for the 75th Anniversary of Gyoda City, Saitama, commissioned by the Gyoda City Choral Association. Prior to composition, I visited Gyoda and was struck by its expansive land, crystal-clear blue sky, and radiant sunlight. Simultaneously, I encountered the city’s history-rich streetscapes and the warmth of its people. This experience gave birth to this composition.
The members of the Gyoda City Choral Association dream that this piece, born in Gyoda, will be sung widely across Japan. I sincerely hope that choirs nationwide will embrace this work and include it in their repertoire.
