Words from composer

The “two-minute performance time” requirement led us to search for a short but impressive poem, and I found one by Kamenosuke Ogata. Most of the poem is made up of onomatopoeia, describing the sound of rain beating against the ground, and expressions such as “DO RA DO RA DO” are not considered rain sounds. Moreover, it is interesting to note that it is written in capital alphabet letters. The poem as a whole, including the part sung in the usual language of “Garasu no Hana (a glass flower),” has some unrealistic and mysterious sentiments. The majority of the music, naturally, is also onomatopoeic, and the music makes extensive use of perfect fourth interval, which have a rigid tonal feel to express this unique texture. I know there are many difficulties in pronunciation and pitch, but I hope you can overcome them and fully express the mysterious world of this poem.
