Notes from the composer:

This piece was made out of my strong desire to write a new work, inspired and moved by hearing a Spanish children’s choir perform in Japan. I composed Kyrie, a song of prayer, thinking of the piercingly blue sky, the transparent and endless blue sky. The SSAA version was first performed by Toyota Boys and Girls Choir in December 2017. This SATB version will be premiered by Matsudo Youth Choir in this May 2023.
