The arrangement of the Finnish folk song “Kuulin Äänen” was commissioned by the wonderful German a cappella group Sjaella from Leipzig for their album “Meridiane”.

I’ve been a huge fan of the group for a long time and was very honoured to arrange for their beautiful voices.

It was also a big challenge to arrange a Finnish folk melody, considering the fact that I’m Latvian. Nevertheless, I truly enjoyed the challenge and found my way with the song, falling in love with the beautiful melody and mystical story.
