In these times of wars and division worldwide, I felt a strong desire to compose this piece. As a non-Christian, I hesitated about composing “Dona nobis pacem.” However, I composed this piece expressing the emotions that welled up from within. This piece was premiered at the 46th JCA Mothers’ Chorus Chiba Competition in April 2023, and was also performed at the National Competition in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture in August of the same year. I pray that all people in the world can live safely, peacefully, and in harmony.
