Toyotaka Tsuchida

Born in 1981 in Tokyo, Japan. Graduated from Toho Gakuen College Music Department, College Diploma Course. Received the 21st Asahi Composition Award for Chorus.

 

He has composed many choral works commissioned by well-known choirs such as The Philharmonic Chorus of Tokyo, Mixed Choir “Ai” , and the Batavia Madrigal Singers. He was in charge of production of the set piece “Kanata no Knock” for High School Division of the 88th NHK All-Japan School Choir Competition and the set piece “Ave Maria” for Youth Choir category of the 3rd Tokyo International Choir Competition.

 

He has also served as a judge for competitions such as the

 

NHK All-Japan School Choir Competition and JCA choral competition. He has studied composition under Masaki NORIKURA and Teruaki SUZUKI, and conducting under late Morihiro OKABE and Ken TAKASEKI, and piano under Iku MIWA.
