Conductor and composer, doctor of musical arts. Head and conductor of the Choir of the Polish Royal Opera, lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University. Second conductor and composer of Archcathedral Male Choir Cantores Minores in Warsaw. He graduated from composition under the supervision of prof. Paweł Łukaszewski and choir conducting in the class of prof. Ryszard Zimak. In 2016-2018 he was conductor of the Women’s Choir of the Warsaw School of Economics, and in 2016-2021 he was the second conductor of the Mixed Choir of the Warsaw School of Economics. Winner of many composition competitions around the world. His pieces are published by Shott, Ars Musica, Hal Leonard. Music by J. Szafrański was performed by various artists like: The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge, New Music Orchestra – OMN, World Youth Choir, proMODERN vocal sextet, Kammerchor Hannover, Poznań Chamber Choir, Polish Chamber Choir, TURKSOY Choir, Warsaw School of Economics Choir, Cantores Minores Archcathedral Male Choir, Art’n’Voices Vocal Ensemble, VOCORE Vocal Ensemble.
